Dogs
Regrettably, we do not allow dogs on site except
guide/assistance dogs. (By prior arrangement)
Emergencies
If you have an urgent problem outside office hours that requires
the attention of a member of staff, please call the duty phone
on : 07708 286 640.
If you dial 999 to call the emergency services to the site, day
or night, please call the duty phone.
Fires
The only place it is permissible to light fires directly on the
ground is the campfire circle. Fires on your own sites must be
contained on altar fires. If you are using patrol altar fires,
please place these in the vicinity of the main altar fire. On
Birches and Bridges, the altar fires may be placed on the concrete
outside the small huts. Please ensure you have a fire bucket ready
and are as vigilant as possible when using fires and putting them
out.
Laundry
We have a camp laundry on site with a washing machine and tumble
dryer. Tokens are available from reception and the Shop.
Lights out
Please ensure that your group are on their own site or in their
building and quiet by 11pm each night.
Outside areas
If you are planning an activity that requires a separate
area, we have a campfire circle, a quiet area for services, a
walled garden for BBQs, a marquee for wet weather, a
tepee with a fire pit and an IT suite. These facilities must be
booked at the office before use.
Reception
Reception is open daily from 8am until 7pm and is situated in
the main house.
Foxlease staff are here to help. If there is anything we can do
to improve your stay, please do not hesitate to ask.
Recycling and rubbish
Please make sure you dispose of your rubbish daily and before
you leave. We have a recycling centre in the main car park. Please
accompany children to the car park and supervise them when sorting
rubbish. Please help us to help the environment by being vigilant
when sorting rubbish. One wrongly placed item contaminates the
whole skip and can cost money. Please squash all waste as small as
possible allowing us to reduce the frequency of skips being
emptied, reducing the cost and helping the environment.
- Paper - place in the red recycling bin in the car park.
- Plastic and tins - remove and discard tops, wash and flatten.
Put in blue recycling bin in car park.
- Cardboard - flatten boxes and place in big blue cardboard skip
in car park.
- Ashes - place in dustbin on your campsite. Do not scatter in
bushes. This bin will be emptied for you.
- Food waste - drain excess liquid and secure in a strong bin
bag. Place in the general rubbish skip in car park.
- Glass - remove and discard tops and wash. Place in
clear/green/brown glass recycing bins in car park.
- All other waste - put in a strong plastic bag and place in the
large blue skip in the car park.
Feminine hygiene items must not be put down the toilets as it
blocks the drains. Please use the sanitary bins provided. Please
ask at reception for medical waste disposal.
Security
To help us with security, please ensure that all visitors and
Leaders wear a name badge linking them to your group.
Shop
There is a shop on site which sells sweets, drinks, ice creams,
postcards and souvenirs. We also sell Guide wear for all sections,
resources and guiding gifts. If you require a special order in
advance of your visit, please ask. We also have a vending machine
selling sweets, drinks and snacks available 24hrs.
Supermarket deliveries
All major supermarkets will deliver to the site. Please make
sure you let them know what site or building your group is staying
in and give a mobile number for any changes to your delivery
time.
Vehicles on site
Wherever possible, depending on the state of the ground and the
nature of the vehicle, groups may take their equipment transport
onto site for loading and unloading. After which, all vehicles must
be left in the main car park. When you are driving on to sites,
please be aware of the number of children on site and drive slowly
and safely. Vehicles must not be driven onto campsites during the
hours of darkness. During and after wet periods, we reserve the
right to exclude all vehicles from entering campsites. In this
event, as far as possible, help can be given to transport luggage
using our site vehicle.
Other facilities
Fridges and freezers are available in a central area for all
campers to use to store food or freeze blocks. Make sure your items
are clearly labelled.
