School standard risk assessments

Two girls on the low ropesIn addition to the risks pointed out in the written assessments, risk assessments are carried out on a day-to-day basis to determine which activities will be available on the day. Consideration is given to weather conditions, instructor competency, group numbers, competency of group members, age and clothing.

The ratios are the upper limits and it may be appropriate to make the group size smaller or to add another instructor.

Our risk assessments are constantly being updated in order to adapt to what is found out by accident forms, instructor experience, new legislation and new guidelines from national governing bodies, Girlguiding UK, Hampshire County Council and the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority.

If you would like copies of our risk assessments, please contact the Foxlease office.
